Overall a really enjoyable stay. Hotel location was very attractive and room was lovely and very spacious with a view of the beautiful gardens. Breakfast very good too. Only negative thing was the room was too hot despite presence of air conditioner.

Worst Hotel experience I have encountered ever. We had a reservation made and paid in advance weeks before our stay to guarantee the price. When we were checking in they tried to charge us almost double for each room for the stay. The manager stated the final price is never guaranteed on any reservation and did not honour the price confirmed by email. We also paid for Breakfast on the reservation and was confirmed by email and they also mentioned this was not included. We were 2 families with kids and we were checking in around 9:30 PM, so you can imagine the stress we were in. Eventually we refused to stay and pay double for each room and decided to look for a place to stay elsewhere , but to our complete surprise the manager did not complete the full refund for the reservation and mentioned they will pass the request to the IHG finance group for processing. After a couple of weeks of not hearing back from anybody I decided to open a case with customer relations for a full refund, which took another 2 weeks to be processed after SEVERAL calls to chase. They did not have the refund request in the system from the manager and kept saying I had to contact the hotel directly for a full refund. Is very likely the hotel was oversold for the night and this is why they tried to get the extra cash. I have NEVER had an issue like this before where a price is not honoured from a prepaid hotel reservation. We had to look for a place to stay in the middle of the night which is something very challenging in Edinburgh around summer time. I have been a member of the IHG group for decades and I would NEVER use this hotel brand again. AVOID!

Great looking hotel until you enter the rooms. First room I was put in I refused to stay in as dark small and pretty grotty. Second room was small and noisy as right beside elevator shaft and all we heard all day and night was a loud humming and the vibrating light just was impossible to silence.. The room was hot as no air con worked and the little fan supplied just blew hot air around. Impossible to open the wi dow too. Doors were marked, bath was chipped and floor tiles cracked. The furniture inside room was a mix of old dated desk and new cupboard. Doors and desk was marked and pretty grotty. There is only enough room to walk around the bed and not quite the room i saw on advert for hotel . I paid 700 pounds for two nights and just not worth it. On closer inspection outside in corridor, it was pretty dirty, especially around hand sanitisers. The breakfast was great, the staff nice and location fabulous, but I'd never stay here again as rooms were just too bad.

Stayed here while visiting family and had a fantastic stay. Our room was on the front of the building which meant we had the most amazing view over the city. It was a decent size with a modern, clean bathroom. The staff were kind and very accommodating. There is no dedicated parking but if you are staying over the weekend and arrive Friday afternoon you can park outside the hotel all weekend for free.

A lovely stay at this hotel! The staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived early and they allowed us to leave our luggage whilst we went to explore. The room was clean and warm, and facing the front of the hotel. The pillow was lumpy but was so tired that it didn’t affect my sleep! The breakfast was hearty and had plenty of choice.
