Who is Mama Mae’s? Mama Mae’s is a small bakery based in East London. Started in 2011, by graphic designer David Amoateng, our passion is to invent new products and recreate time-honoured classics with a West African twist. Pure and beautifully simple, and aimed to take you on a nostalgic flavour ride, our treats come from individually handcrafted recipes and artisan ingredients. As much as we aim to create beautifully memorable cakes for any occasion, we take even greater strides to ensure all our bakes taste absolutely delicious, even our free-from alternatives, which includes gluten-free, vegan, eggless, dairy-free and sugar-free varieties.

Came across Mama Mae's while looking for a birthday cake for my daughter and I am so glad I found Mama Mae's! The service was prompt and professional from start to finish. I just gave them my theme and they designed the perfect cake and cupcakes. All my guests thoroughly enjoyed the cupcakes the flavour was amazing and truly the best I've ever tasted. Excellent value for money!

We had the pleasure of getting our cake and cupcakes designed here for our daughters 1st birthday and was blown away with how amazing the cake turned out and tasted! The cupcakes are also a must as a nice little extra and taste absolutely beautiful. We can’t recommend David enough and will be back time and time again for more cakes and cupcakes for every possible occasion. 10/10 you must come here for your cakes and cupcakes!! Thank you.

Beautifully crafted cake and decorations for a special birthday. It tasted delicious and looked stunning (my photo doesn't do it justice!) The team went above and beyond in the service they gave, and I will definitely be using them again. Thank you Mama Mae's 😘

David from Mama Mae’s has made several cakes for our family including a 1st birthday bunny cake, a 3rd birthday digger cake, a 4th birthday dinosaur cake, and a 40th birthday pool table cake. His attention to detail is amazing, and the different elements he uses to personalise the cakes are well thought through. Did I mention the cakes taste amazing as well? I highly recommend David, and look forward to designing my next cake with him!
