Popped into MYM in Slough to get a Commissioner of Oaths signature and stamp on a document. Very friendly receptionist. Can't say the same for the solicitor who came into reception to deal with me. He did not greet me or introduce himself, but stuck his open hand out rudely towards me - in a gesture obviously demanding I give him the document that needed to be signed and stamped. When I started asking him if he was a Commissioner of Oaths, he rudely flapped his fingers at me and interrupted me, saying: "You'd better hurry up. I don't have much time." He then proceeded to continue talking on a mobile phone call, while impatiently barking instructions at me out of the side of his mouth. After I had signed, he barked: "Wait!" and disappeared through a door. Call me old-fashioned, but I expect solicitors to display even basic good manners towards their clients. I paid £20 for a signature, a stamp, and a very unpleasant experience.
