We hired the City Rooms for my daughter's wedding reception on Dec the 31st The venue is gorgeous; with excellent facilities. Also, the planning and co-ordinating team are brilliant. Special mention must go to Georgia and Charlotte for whom no task was too big or menial, ultra professional, always available and so pleasant to deal with. If you're looking for a venue to cater for up to 200 guests, look no further. A truly wonderful place.

I went to christmas party in City Rooms this year and it was fabulous experience. Beatifuly decorated, great space at the the table without being squashed with the next table gests. Fantastic service. Staff very professional and attentive. Timed well food service and tasty. Lovely christmas music from the beginning but still allows gests to talk without shauting to each other. Highly recommended.

Had a wonderful Christmas party here ,food was lovely, drinks reasonably priced and the room was beautiful. Best to get dropped off if possible ,long queue for drinks so get two in at a time.

Centrally located in Leicester, the hotel is conveniently located for all city centre attractions & transport links but don’t expect any stunning views from the windows. The bedrooms are very clean & spacious, furnishings modern, bed comfortable & linen good… but - the carpets, walls & some fixtures are in places grubby & tired. The bath had a repaired crack in it and the wall socket plug by the vanity desk was loose & unsafe. The ‘fake’ chandeliers in the ballroom with hundreds of bulbs & plastic trim were not my cup of tea. Noise carries throughout the hotel so if you’re staying whilst a function is taking place - expect to hear it. The rainfall shower in the bathroom didn’t serve its purpose due to poor water pressure so it was difficult to wash off any shampoo. I resorted to waiting the hour whilst the trickling flow filled a bath instead. Food at the ball I attended was mediocre. The soup & sticky toffee pudding were fine, but the chicken breast was dry & ‘hassleback’ potatoes were in fact over cooked jacket spuds that had been scored on top & sprinkled with a meagre amount of packet grated cheese (see pic). I’ve had so much better for a lot less. The staff were friendly, chatty and hard working. Some of the young bar staff still need cocktail practice but they were trying hard - just slow. Would I pick it for a wedding - no definitely not. A function? - maybe if the cost was reduced. Would I stay again -sadly no.
