Hire The Brunel Suite at Grand Station for one of the best options for venue hire in Wolverhampton. A Grade II listed building formally known as Wolverhampton Low-Level Station, The Grand Station is a prominent historical landmark located centrally in the city. Originally opened in 1854, the buildings were designed by John Fowler and the roof by world-famous Isambard Kingdom Brunel. The Station was closed for 30 years but has since been completely transformed into a 5-star multi-purpose venue with separate function and meeting spaces.

We got married at this venue in October 2022 and everything was absolutely fantastic. Our event ran smoothly before and during the duration and we were provided excellent customer service when looking at the venue and on the day. Manni was fantastic to deal with and her expertise meant the day ran smoothly. Facilities and food were also great, highly recommended for any event you are hosting.

We had our wedding on the 24th of August 2022, from our first viewing it was such a smooth process for us. Danielle answered all of our questions and helped us choose the right package for us! She emailed us to help sort out any issues we were having with food choices and decor etc. Monisha from Grand Decor listened to us, gave us exactly what we wanted for our decorations, and set it up beautifully for us! Even our confetti bags, thank you cards and activity books. Hani was fantastic on the day of our wedding. Although I was late, he ensured everybody was calm and got me down the aisle in time. He made sure everybody's food was correct and made sure we even had buffet food to eat in the evening and set it up so that we could bring as much of it as possible home for the next day (still sad we couldn't bring more with us). When there were any issues with the bar, he sorted it out for us. Hani also checked in with not only us but with both of our parents and wedding parties to ensure we were happy and enjoying ourselves - thank you so much Hani you were absolutely fantastic! The DJ was ok, however, some of his music choices weren't what we wanted but we still had a good time anyway. The bar prices were good however it was inconsistent to start with but this was rectified immediately by Hani who then made sure it was sorted with our guests for us. If there was a price list available to see we would have been able to rectify this a lot sooner and avoid any confusion with our guests. We did have an issue with the confetti as we were told to purchase dried flowers however a few weeks before we were told this was not allowed which involved us selling our old confetti and buying synthetic flower petals instead which is not what we wanted. If brands that sold what was under their guidelines were given to us it would have solved this in plenty of time before the day. We had an amazing day with Grand Station, thank you again so much for such a wonderful day!

I had my dream wedding at Grand Station. The venue itself is such a stunning, timeless place. The food was absolutely amazing and the service was excellent. My guests felt relaxed and they really enjoyed the event… all this thanks to my fabulous wedding planner Manni. She was always available, gave so much good advice and helped me find vendors when I needed them last minute. She stayed throughout the actual event too, to make sure things ran on schedule and according to my plan, as well as keeping me company when I had to wait in the bridal suite!

We had our wedding here on 21/10/22, from first getting in touch Emma the sales rep was great, answered all of our questions, set up two viewings for us so we could be absolutely sure we wanted our special day there. Danielle was our wedding planner, she was lovely, answered all our questions and made sure to only show us decor included in the package we chose so we didn't end up having to pay extra for upgraded decor. Monisha from the grand decor team was lovely, she listened to what decor and colours we were thinking and gave advice on what would look nice together. Hani was the on the day events manager, he was fantastic, he made sure we were where we needed to be and that catering was running smoothly, he even made sure the selfie prop sticks were stuck on (that I totally forgot to do) he made sure we had drinks and food first and kept checking in that everything was going ok and that we were on track with time. The food was fantastic, all our guests commented it was worth that wait as it did take a while to get the food out (we only had 60 guests so it seemed to take a while even without a huge number) Sound guy and DJ were fantastic, very helpful made our band set up easy and sound great, DJ came over to ask us what type of music would get people dancing and if to make music louder to help get people up which was a great touch to include us. There was no lighting aimed towards the stage with the band on, the band were told to use all of the venue equipment rather than bring their own. We ended up with a complimentary upgraded LED dancefloor which was gorgeous and were also asked if we wanted to upgrade the chairs for free too which was a nice touch. There were a few niggly things which is why we haven't given the full 5*. We had discussed our decor choices with Danielle and then had a further meeting with Monisha to finalise, we only changed 1 or 2 things so we thought everything was sorted. We had chosen soft amber uplighting but realised half way through the reception the uplighting was green - this may have just been left that way from the event the day before and thankfully with the chandeliers etc it didn't actually give the room a green glow you could just see when you looked up. We asked for plain table cloths but the ones on the table were patterned, they actually looked lovely so it ended up being a happy surprise but to say in both decor discussions we asked for plain table cloths it was odd they were patterned, again I'm guessing these may have been left from the event the day before. We had given wedding advice cards and kids wedding activity books to the staff the day before to be put out for people to fill in instead of a guest book but these weren't put out, it wasn't majorly missed but felt like we then wasted money on them as they weren't there to be used. In the decor brochure it showed flowers either side of the top table which we did say we would like just with a geometric stand not clear plastic, these were missing, the tables still looked lovely though. There was only 1 barman which worked as we didn't have a huge number of guests however he didn't seem happy in his job and commented to guests he is paid very little and seemed to pick and choose what to charge for drinks which was odd and being no bar price list we couldn't work out if we were being under or overcharged. One time shots were in little plastic shot glasses next round they were on big glass ones but still charged the same. Our main issue that we had several guests comment on was the sales staff showing other couples around the venue during our event, if this had been discussed with us beforehand we would have been happy for this however at one point I looked up thinking evening guests had arrived and it was a random couple with a sales woman being shown our wedding reception then a little bit of time later another couple was shown round. This was a distraction even though they only came through the door and stood by the door it felt a bit distasteful, we paid a lot of money for the room hire so didn't expect this to happen

A huge thank you to everyone at Grand Station for our perfect day. From the planning to the Venue decor which was absolutely beautiful, DJ was fantastic, Food was amazing. Just every detail was covered and Throughout the day we was made to feel relaxed by Meena our event manager who kept everything running smoothly. It was a perfect ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception. We can’t thank you enough.
